Chapter 1: Meeting Her Majesty's Sword

''My dear Ciel,

I hope you are doing well. I'm sorry for the ending of your engagement with Lady Midford. But worry not! I think I've found you another beautiful young lady to marry. Her name is (Name) (Last Name), from the known (Last name) family, who, as you know, are dear friends of mine. Their beautiful daughter was left a widow when her fiance was killed on a carriage accident. But enough of that. I think you should meet her and see what a wonderful girl she is. And I think that now would be the most appropriate time, since we have another case at hand. A known criminal has escaped and is causing some trouble for me. So, I would like for you and my Sword to finally cooperate to solve this case. The father will meet up with you in a couple of days and he will bring his daughter (Name). I hope everything goes well for you.

 Uh, honestly why does everybody keep mentioning the ending of my engagement with Elizabeth? This was a long time ago. And a new case? The Queen's Sword? I've heard of him. He is the 'left hand' of her Majesty, while I'm her 'right' one. They sure are known in my places. Though nobody has ever seen his face. They always said that he was a shadow and that somebody else did his job. Well, it seems that they were wrong.

''What did the letter say, my lord?'', asked Sebastian, looking at me with a smirking face. Uh, you damn demon.

''The Queen has given me another case and we are expecting some guests in a few days. The (Last name).'', I told him.

''The (Last name)? A quite known family in the business world. The father owns the (Last name) company and are making a lot of money, trading different ingredients and recieving others from all around the world.'', he commented.

''Yeah, tell me something I don't know.'', I said sarcastically, though he seemed to ignore my statement.

''Lord (Last name) also has a daughter in your age and she is widow, unfortunately, for a young lady so beautiful as herself. I've heard that many tried to marry her after she lost her fiance, but she denied every one of them.'', he said.

''Yeah, so what?'', I asked annoyed.

''I'm just guessing that her Majesty did this on purpose. After you lost Lady Elizabeth to Lord Trancy, you didn't accept any-'', he was going to say, but I interrupted him.

''So what? That was in the past and it will stay in the past! I won't keep on remembering insignificant things that happened in the past. End of discussion.'', I said and he looked at me with a smirk on his face.

''Is young lord annoyed by the truth?'', he asked.

''No, but I'm annoyed by the useless butler that I have! Now go and prepare the house for when they come.'', I commanded him and he left.

Truth is that I was annoyed by Elizabeth choosing Trancy for her fiance. I mean, what did she see in him? The only thing good that came out of it, was that Trancy stopped bothering me. But that happened a couple of months ago. And Sebastian was telling the truth. Many families came and asked me to engage with their daughters, since I was the most known and successful lord and they wanted a kind of alliance with me. I never had any interest in marriage, so I always denied. What about Elizabeth you may ask? That engagement happened when I was very young and my parents were alive, so I had no other choice but to accept my fate. But right now I had nobody to bind me with such insignificant matters as marriage. Either way, I wouldn't be able to actually 'enjoy' it. I still had my contract.

I'm 18 right now and I still hold the contract with Sebastian, though right now I'm a demon as well. How did that happen? Well Trancy's butler wanted to steal my soul when I was 14 and as you can understand, he had to fight with my butler. He lost, but something happened and I was awaken as a demon. From what I understood, it was due to Trancy's request that I became a demon if I died and they had me hypnotised so that I would fall to my death, or something like that. Next thing I remember, is me awakening as a demon, with a contract to Sebastian that would last forever and Trancy's butler and maid dead. But as I said, I shouldn't be reminded of insignificant things.

After that flashback to my past, I continued my job like I did every day and waited for the following days to pass. I was actually a bit curious about meeting the Queen's Sword.

Today the (Last name) were supposed to come. Sebastian, as always, had everything prepared and had made sure the idiots that we had for staff, didn't make a mess. So the only thing left for us, was to wait for them to come. They finally came around noon and Sebastian lead them to my office, where I currently was.

Lord (Last name) was a tall man and he looked to be around his late 40's. He had (h/c) hair with some white hair starting to show, (e/c) eyes and a smile on his face that showed me that he could be a bit of an over excited person. Though I might be wrong.

Lady (Last name) was an attractive young woman to say the least. She had (h/l), (h/c) hair and bright (e/c) eyes (if you have glasses) that were covered by (colour) glasses. I now understand why men would chase after her. Though I don't want to engage myself to such kind of relationships. She, unlike her father, had a more serious face, which left me surprised. I thought that men were usually the ones that were more serious, but apparently I was wrong. She looked like she didn't actually want to be in this situation, like she only came here for business.

''Here are Lord (Last name) and Lady (Last name), master.'', Sebastian introduced them.

''Pleasure to meet you both. As you may know, my name is Ciel Phantomhive, head of the Phantom Company.'', I introduced myself.

''The pleasure is ours, young Earl. And you didn't need to introduce yourself. I think everybody knows your name by now. It's no secret that your company is quite successful.'', said Lord (Last name).

''The same goes for your company as well, Lord (Last name).'', I said.

''You don't have to call me Lord. You may call me (F/Name).'', he said, all the while his daughter just watched us interact.

''Alright then, (F/Name). As you may know, we have some other things to discuss as well. You know with the new case...'', I said and he looked at me weirdly.

''I'm sorry, but what do you mean by 'new case'? Does it have to do with our companies?'', he asked, but his daughter answered on my behalf. She had a melodic voice. Wait. What am I thinking?

''Father he isn't speaking about our company. He is talking about the job her Majesty has assigned to our family for years.'', she explained in a professional tone, something I never thought women could do. Well, except for my aunt.

''Oh, that! You mean about the Queen's Sword? If so, why are you asking me?'', he said, addressing me.

''Because you are the Queen's Sword, right?'', I asked confused.

''Oh, no, no! There has been a misunderstanding. I'm not the Queen's Sword, even though that's what I'm called in public. The actual Queen's Sword is another (Last name).'', he explained.

''And who are they?'', I asked, not expecting the answer, at all.

''I am the Queen's Sword, my lord.'', answered (Name), with a smirk decorating her face when she saw my shocked expression.

''And I assume that you are the Queen's Dog, right? I'm happy to work with you. I've been waiting for a while actually.'', she said with a confident voice. I never thought that...

                           The Queen's Sword was a female. Now I'm wondering what else is waiting me in the future?
